We guide you at the right place...

Has Le Grand Bornand won you over as your next holiday destination? But you've never been here before and don't know what our village has to offer? Don't worry, we'll guide you to the ideal place to stay based on your expectations.

Le Chinaillon in summer, a quiet area

For a slightly quieter stay, with views of the mountain pastures, close to hiking trails and lakes
Choose the Grand-Bornand Chinaillon area (1,300 m), specifically the areas of Vieux Village, Samance, Le Venay, La Place or Les Outalays.

Located at the foot of the Col de La Colombière, most of the rentals available throughout the Grand-Bornand Chinaillon area offer beautiful unobstructed views of the surrounding mountains (Le Lachat, Pic Jalouvre, the Bargy range; the view varies depending on the orientation of the accommodation).

In summer, enjoy easy access to the Châtelet chairlift in the La Mulaterie sector. The top of this chairlift is the starting point for numerous walks and hikes and also provides easy access to Lake La Cour. From the top of this chairlift, mountain bikers can access the fun blue trail La Virolo.

Located 6 km from Le Grand-Bornand Village, numerous shops and restaurants await you in Le Grand-Bornand Chinaillon, particularly concentrated along the main street in the centre of Chinaillon.

Close to the centre and shop

Focus on the Grand-Bornand Village area (1,000 metres), specifically the village centre, the Villavit area (at the entrance to the village), Pont de Suize and Envers de Villeneuve.
You will have easy access on foot to all the shops and restaurants in the village, as well as facilities such as the leisure area (with swimming pool, tennis courts, mini-golf, pump track and playgrounds), the tree-top adventure course, the Heritage Centre and La Source.
From the village, you can take the Rosay cable car, then the Lachat chairlift, which is accessible to pedestrians, mountain bikers and paragliders.

Some residences in the Sur Villeneuve area offer a little more peace and quiet than those in the centre, but they are a little further away from amenities. Most of these residences offer beautiful views of the village and the Aravis mountain range, as this area is located on the road leading up to Chinaillon.

During the season, shuttle buses run between Le Grand-Bornand Village and Le Grand-Bornand Chinaillon, and they also serve all the surrounding hamlets. (The shuttle bus is free to use).

On the heights

A little further from the centre, higher up and offering beautiful views of the village: the Hameau de Suize area and, a little further still, the Nant Robert area, located on the outskirts of the village towards the Bouchet valley but on higher ground.

Even further out, for a ‘disconnected’ holiday, book your rental in the Vallée du Bouchet area, not far from the Col des Annes, with lovely walks nearby.
In Chinaillon, the Mottaz and Les Faux areas are further away from the centre of Chinaillon, where you will feel almost ‘alone in the world’.

The in-between

6 kilometres separate Le Grand-Bornand Village (1,000 metres) from Le Grand-Bornand Chinaillon (1,300 metres). If you are unsure which area to choose, opt for accommodation halfway between Chinaillon and the village.
> La Communaille area,
> Les Frasses area
> Le Parmerais area
These areas offer magnificent views of the Aravis mountain range and the village.
